Nova was asked to attend site and provide a bespoke turn-key solution for replacing an existing problematic store lift which continually failed and had failed its LOLER certification.
The existing lift was a low-profile type of column lift situated in an existing shallow platform pit.
Our customer requested a more robust lift and solution to the way they load/off-load goods from the store top floor to yard area offering the safest and most reliable solution.
Nova specified our Nova Store Scissor Lift solution complete with Associated Safety Barriers and Interlock Gates conforming to EN15701-1
To do this the Nova team completed the following tasks complying with CDM regulations working in a very busy environment; store disruption and health and safety were our primary concerns.
Nova worked closely with our customer to ensure all site colleagues/public always remained safe whilst works were completed on site and that our works did not affect the general trade of the store:
Our in-house team of engineers completed the following tasks:
- De-commission of existing lift and removal from site
- Civils works to alter existing concrete lift pit to suit new lift
- Installation of Nova Robust Scissor Lift and Associated Safety Barriers and Interlocking Gates
- Commission and test of new lift
- LOLER certificate provided to customer
- Electrical commissioning certificate provided to customer
- O&M information provided to customer
